Maryland's massage license and registration renewal portal opened August 17, 2026, and closes October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CE for this cycle must be completed between November 1, 2024 and the date the renewal is submitted. The ordinary 24-hour package is 3 hours of ethics or jurisprudence, 3 hours of communicable diseases, 2 hours of diversity, cultural competency, or implicit bias, and 16 hours of electives pertaining to human anatomy. A current Healthcare Provider Level CPR certification is required for LMTs and Basic CPR for RMPs.
What this means
Licensees initially credentialed on or after November 1, 2025 are exempt from the ordinary CE package for this renewal, but must still renew, maintain the applicable CPR certification, and complete the required implicit-bias and structural-racism training. Chapter 191 preserves practice authority after October 31, 2026 for people already registered as RMPs, so the older conversion deadline should not be presented as an automatic loss of practice. Eligible RMPs may still request LMT conversion under the Board's published experience or education pathways. The separate advertising law, Chapter 22, takes effect October 1: it prohibits sexual-services advertising and placement on sites known for such advertising, makes each day of a prohibited online ad a separate violation, and requires any individual name shown in an ad to match the Board-issued credential. Covered preexisting physical signs must be removed before May 1, 2027.
