AMTLB's massage therapist application instructions tell applicants to pass the MBLEx or a national standardized examination approved by the Board, and state that AMTLB may approve state exams case by case. The same instructions currently state that AMTLB is not accepting Texas exams in lieu of a national standardized examination.
What this means
A therapist who qualified in Texas through the Texas state massage exam should not assume that exam will satisfy Alabama. Alabama applicants should confirm whether they need MBLEx or another approved national standardized exam before spending time or money on a transfer plan.
